Subject: Call for Applications – Andrology Editor
Dear ASA Members,
The American Society of Andrology (ASA) is soliciting nominations for the position of Editor of the journal Andrology. The person selected will serve a 4-year term beginning January 1, 2024, starting the first two years as ASA-appointed Deputy Editor working with the European Academy of Andrology (EAA)-appointed Editor-in-Chief, and the final two years as ASA-appointed Editor-in-Chief.
The ASA-appointed Editor should provide complementary expertise to the EAA-appointed Editor, to cover multiple aspects of the field of andrology. The Andrology Editor-in-Chief and Deputy Editor nominate Associate Editors and form the Editorial Board to assist them in processing manuscripts for review and evaluating the reviews for acceptability for publication.
Nominations may be either self-nominations or nomination of colleagues (with their written approval). Nominees should have a strong research background in andrology, with experience in basic research and a commitment to rapid and fair peer review of manuscripts solicited internationally. Equally important is a desire to continue growing the Journal while maintaining excellence. The Andrology web site provides extensive details regarding the present operation of the Journal.
Nominations should be received by April 15, 2023. The ASA Journal Committee will provide applicants with a detailed description of the commitment needed for serving as an Editor of the Journal, as well as an overview of financial support provided by the Publisher (Wiley). Selected candidates will then be asked to provide a more detailed description of their plans, their vision for the Journal, and two letters of support by May 15, 2023.
Please submit the following to the Chair of the ASA Journal Committee:
• A brief statement outlining the nominee’s qualifications for the position of Andrology Editor, including publishing expertise, editorial board and any other experience that would support this nomination.
• A brief statement of the nominee’s ideas for upholding and enhancing the overall quality of Andrology as the premiere journal in this field of reproductive biology.
• A complete curriculum vitae.
Send the nomination, curriculum vitae of nominee and letter of personal commitment to the position of Andrology Editor to the committee chair by Email (robert.viger@crchudequebec.ulaval.ca) by April 15, 2023 to:
